HOLOCAUST EXHIBIT
AN EXCELLENT EDUCATIONAL EXHIBIT FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES.
"Mauthausen to Auschwitz - Visions of the Holocaust," was created to compliment the Holocaust theatrical drama, "Block 5." The response to this exhibit has been so tremendous, that we decided to offer the exhibit as a "stand alone piece" without the aid of the live theatre production. The exhibit concentrates on both the Mauthausen and the Auschwitz concentration camps and offers photos, both period and more recent, of both camps. It also contains riveting quotes from both prisoners in both camps and from the liberators who freed the survivors.
School students have been particularly taken by this exhibit. This goes beyond the classroom lesson and shows graphic evidence of what the Holocaust was and how it was carried out by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. This is certainly a learning experience for students of all ages. It was put very well by Barbara Root, a teacher at LaBrae Middle School near Youngstown, Ohio, when she said: "Two girls told me...that they thought the pictures [exhibit] created such a mood and the quotes from the actual survivors made it so real and sad to them." But it is also a learning experience for adults. We have found, via this exhibit, that many adults had no idea of the level of atrocities that were committed by the Nazis. They come away from this exhibit as enlightened as the students.
This exhibit is available for rental for schools, organizations, synagogues, theatres, churches, and any other venues that would find it useful as a way to educate and enlighten all people about what happened during World War II and what could still happen today. Rental fees go to the maintenance of the exhibit and to the creation of additional exhibits so that one is available at all times. The exhibit contains roughly 80 hanging pieces but is being updated and expanded on a regular basis. Also available with the exhibit, on a limited basis, is a scale model of the Mauthausen camp which sits on a 4' x 8' table. This model, however, is only available within 250 miles of Youngstown, Ohio due to shipping difficulties. It rents separately from the main exhibit. In addition, and included with the main exhibit, is a DVD interview with Eva Schloss. Eva was a good friend of Anne Frank and lived in the same apartment building as Anne in Amsterdam. After the war, Eva became the posthumous step-sister to Anne Frank when Eva's mother married Otto Frank.
A free brochure is available which details the exhibit and gives you an idea of what it entails. It can be ordered by contacting us via one of the contact links below. Rental rates for the exhibit and the model are very reasonable and can fit into almost any budget. The rewards offered by the exhibit are immeasurable. Rental rates are available upon request with no obligation.
Make "Mauthausen to Auschwitz" an event at your venue this year. It is something you will be glad you did and it will be something that people will never forget.
